Kara is an Army veteran and served in Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom and has been endorsed by the veterans' organization VoteVets.

City Clerk-Treasurer

She has served as the City Clerk-Treasurer since 2019 after first being appointed and then being elected in 2020.

Kara has over 20 years of experience as a dedicated Public Servant. From her time in the Army as an Ulls-G Clerk, she went on to work at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, then to Arkansas State University, before moving to her time at the Social Security Administration.
